About the project and founder

EA CPR was founded in 2022 in Portland, Maine by then high school sophomore Sophia Toon. Through a grant made possible by the Cape Elizabeth Education Foundation, EA CPR implemented six female simulators at Cape Elizabeth High School. After this successful launch, EA CPR has gone on to connect with expert cardiologists at Maine Health, advocate locally for increased CPR training for school staff, and design a comprehensive CPR training curriculum.
